GPLP: Cursed Crusade
GPLP: Cursed Crusade
Brad joins us for another historical epic.
Atlus' Cursed Crusade:
We will finish this game, but Brad will only be with us for the first half (we recorded the first half all at once, then he had to go back to England).
The first half alone is as long as the X-Men LP, so there's a lot of episodes to come!

Cool another hilarious GPLP (with Brad).
I like how the other guys sucked at taking cover when they had a big warning.

Re: GPLP: Cursed Crusade
The audio on the game is still a little too high, and mixes in with your voices.
Also, Brad's comment "Put the sword away" reminds me of a story that Peter Morwood, who's worked on films as a sword advisor, told me about a broad sword.
He was going through the safety prep with stuntmen on handling the swords. And one of the stuntmen interrupts him, and says that he's trained with Katana. And before Peter can stop him, he picks up an antique Broadsword and starts spinning it around, doing flip ticks with it, and showing off his ability to make the sword fly around. Then drops it to rest on his shoulder.
Katana are edged on one side of the blade.
As you will have noticed, broadswords are sharply bladed on both sides.
The paramedics managed to save his arm and shoulder. Sadly the sword was ruined.

I know it's too late, but Brad needs to speak up a little. It was hard to hear him over the game sometimes.
I'm not sure why, but it makes me happy that this is the third GPLP of four to feature Death in the first episode. I think this should become a common theme among GPLP (we can retroactively put in Chad fighting Death at the beginning of X-Men Destiny).

I agree. The audio levels of the game isn't as important as the actual players in this case. Especially when subtitles are enabled anyways. I couldn't really hear what was being said above the cutscene during pretty much all of the pre-castle push scene.
Also, Brad = awesome.

You guys make me want to play terrible games. Maybe not this one so much.
I want to know how much of a train wreck Destiny is though.

wow they really don't want you guys to actually play the their game. This is supposed to be a hack and slash action game and almost 25 minutes in and you have killed 3 guys and pushed a wooden wall a few yards.

Re: GPLP: Cursed Crusade
The game starts for real after the wall pushing, if my memory serves me correctly. Still, terrible pacing, but yeah.

Re: GPLP: Cursed Crusade
I really love these videos, but I found it very difficult to listen to your commentary and having the game conversations at the same time. As I am interested in your commentary, the game audio should go way down. Especially with Brad in the mix (who is awesome) it gets way too much.
keep up the great work you guys!

These let's play videos are the best, and main, reason I watch LRR videos

So, basically, it's impossible to die in church? Dammit, I'm going to have to hang out there now. This was not how I saw my life going.

I love all the little facts Brad spouts. It really helps set this series apart from other Let's Plays.

His reaction to the demon stuff was about the same as mine.

Re: GPLP: Cursed Crusade
I enjoy the more informative aspects that Brad adds to the LP's he's part of. Like the armor inaccuracies, the information about the shelling that was happening while it was recorded, and the fact they got the demon crusader's stance wrong. Everyone knows that's now how they fought!
But it was the same kind of information I enjoyed during the Dante's Inferno Let's Play. Adding information about the actual time period/subject matter does make it more interesting. Plus, he's just fun.

Re: GPLP: Cursed Crusade
I'm starting to have a recurring problem with all LRR videos: they continue to be way too awesome and distract me from doing super important projects for collage. I can already see good things coming from this. It's a shame Brad couldn't be there for the whole thing

Re: GPLP: Cursed Crusade
Yeah just wanna chime in with everyone else... I really enjoy the Brad videos... (that said I loved X-men too, & haven't watched the first GPLP)
I got the Coif thing too, but I'm a LRPer and have heard armour wearing heavies chat about these things (I'm a healer myself coz there is no way in hell I'm wearing chain, even LRP chain is too heavy for me to be comfortable in!)
I hafta admit I wasn't looking forward to this one after enjoying Xmen so much. Coz I remembered the Unskippable and thought it'd be tedious to watch. But then watched the intro and was like... oh yeah Brad is back for this... this is gunna be fun! (and it was so looking forward to more!)
