Re: Harlem Shake
First off; yay for new cHustle.
Question, during the scene where Kathleen are suggesting ideas; were the parts where we see James in the background greenscreened?

Re: Harlem Shake
Also, does the Iron Man one really exist somewhere? It sounded too contrived and absurd to not actually exist somewhere.

I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure he's just out of focus. Fun with depth of field.Smeghead wrote:Question, during the scene where Kathleen are suggesting ideas; were the parts where we see James in the background greenscreened?

No it wasn't just that. I don't know it looks a bit odd to me, maybe its the lighting

I felt that it was greenscreened but wasn't sure. then I made a mental picture of the room and found evidence that it's greenscreened. If not, they would have been standing inside the wall that has the whiteboard. Greenscreen was the only way to get a shot at that angle

As opposed to Meme Beej the Escapist forums are calling him Beejazoid which I find infinitely more amusing.

yeah I kind of thought there wouldn't be enough space. also the lighting on Graham/Kathleen is different between the shots with the whiteboard in the background and James. Still, its done well enough that we actually has to stop and question if what we see is real or not and that the answer isn't obvious

I think DarkAbyssKeeper or another GIFfer should do one of James mouthing "Do the Harlem Shake" while looking bored.

I can get behind Beejazoid. I wish I had thought of that.

Definitely, I only saw it the second time through. It was very well crafted.

Re: Harlem Shake
Well, you might have difficulty putting a camera guy there, but LRR has a tiny camera now (the one they used for Junk in the Trunk), so it's plausible to get that shot.
Or, it was greenscreened. But considering the audio element that adds to the proceedings, that seems a bit silly for a mundane shot that could have been framed in less difficult ways.

Re: Harlem Shake
It wasn't green screened, we just moved the table a bit and lit things well. We really tried to improve our lighting this episode.

Re: Harlem Shake
Well then you did such a good job we thought it was fake... that doesn't sound right, but it was meant as a compliment!
maybe its just that its gotten harder to see when you guys are using greenscreen so we start to suspect everything of being greenscreened because its hard to tell what is and what isn't.

Re: Harlem Shake
You set & lit the scene so well, we were getting convinced that you were using a different location!
...and with some people's (obsessive?) familiarity with the Moonbase, it led them to believe you were using a 'virtual' room to accomplish this.
Looking at it, this is really a testament to your collective skill in that you can take a room the audience is familiar with, and make it seem to be somewhere completely different.

Re: Harlem Shake
Well, apparently your greenscreening skills have increased to the point where we suspect reality of being faked. So that has to be a compliment, right?
On a side note, I now have this stuck in my head:
For great justice,
Take off every zig.
Pffftt ZIG pffftt ZIG pffftt ZIG pffftt ZIG
You know what you doing
Take off every ZIG.

Yeah, I admit it, I have a weird/creepy mind sometimes.

Mission accomplished! That was some superb lighting!

First off I believe we're all in agreement that mad scientist Paul needs to make a come back, second I loved the constant references to season 1.

Re: Harlem Shake
I'm a bit overwhelmed by the praise for my CH cameo this week! It literally took about 5 minutes to film while I was taking a break from a nearby band rehearsal. Even though it was such a tiny moment, I found it incredibly easy to slip back into "evil Geoff" mode. Which is to say, it's more "flippant Geoff" mode. Great to be a part of it all again...maybe next time I'll have a more dastardly surprise up my sleeve...

Geoff: Awesome cameo. I like to think that cH!Geoff has moved on from big, complex schemes to more subtle annoyances.

I agree after CH season 1 he isn't really LRRs enemy anymore but I could see him doing little things to annoy them from time to time.

Re: Harlem Shake
Geoff, it's great to see you again, doing SO MUCH with just a few moments of presence!
I can see cH!Geoff still holding a grudge, but 'keeping it simple' to vent his ire at them in smaller, more easily attainable ways.
...or maybe...maybe this is the first foray of a sneaky, complex long-term plan to gradually erode away the cH!LRR and rid himself of their frustrating existence?
(just another wild hair; I get wacky ideas in the wee hours...)

Beejazoid is a better nickname than what I had been calling him: /b/eej chan.
I like how you guys didn't show the completed video. The best way to win at the Harlem Shake is not to play.
