So I want to make a Commander deck around a principle: Turn the game into a mess of extra rules. For instance, see these five cards. They're good examples of what I want. I'd want all five of them in there.
Good choices for a Commander? Good choices for cards? Suggestions?

oh man that is just nasty.
aura of silence seems like a thing?
but this just seems like 5 color madness I tell you. MADNESS!
I'll ask around my LGS, we have some guys that are all about effecting the rules on the board.

Re: Commander deck help
There is a lot of red enchantments that does weird stuff:
Risky Move
Pandemonium
No Quarter
Confusion in the Ranks
Grand Melee
Grip of Chaos
I once played against a commander deck that had these and more and it was very confusing

Winter orb, void, the abyss are a few off the top of my head
Re: Commander deck help
Storm Cauldron comes to mind.
Reality Twist and Naked Singularity do as well, but their cumulative upkeep costs are rather prohibitive.

And, oddly, it's not nearly as naked as Essence Vortex.

Re: Commander deck help
Karona, False God = the perfect commander for decks like this.
Knowledge Pool: it essentially turns the game into "everyone has one collective hand, and is about to get a serious headache figuring out the stack"
Scrambleverse, because sometimes the battlefield needs to get randomized.
Grip of Chaos: Yeah, you'll want to have a random number generator handy.
Goblin Game: Only works if people play along. Typically it doesn't work as well as you'd like.

Re: Commander deck help
Play cards like Scrambleverse and Knowledge Pool once, in a big multiplayer game. Then you can tick them off your achievement list, and take them out, so you can play a much smaller multiplayer game with what friends you have left.
While no one overhear you quickly tell me not cow cow.
but how about watch phone?

Yup! Immediately who I thought of, too. 5 color, means I have all the options, and has its own all the players effect.

Bah, I don't have any friends now. I'm using them all the time.

How to Win at Commander
Step 1: Cast Karona, False God
Step 2: Cast Whispering Madness. Encode it onto Karona, False God.
Step 3: Never stop laughing.

Re: Commander deck help
Bleh. Stupid customs. My Commander deck I'm taking to CCEE has changed from "The Thallid Shooter" epic junk Moldmander deck inspired by Kathleen's reaction to the Thallids to "Whatever I had laying around the house plus an Aurelia the Warlead I had in my binder" Grrr. Well maybe it'll arrive tomorrow morning before I leave
Look at the cards. LOOK AT THE CARDS!

Re: Commander deck help
If you can get a hold of the It's Magic DVD (hint: I have it), take a look at Jer's actual Phelddagrif deck since it might give you a few ideas. I'm tempted to actually try and use it myself because I know nothing about Commander.
