IDDQDerp

Postby Paul » 12 Jan 2014, 14:02

Watching Alex play games is its own pastime. Look forward to Minecraft shenanigans and nutty adventure maps, “Let’s NOPE!” survival horror playthroughs, FPS games with mods you’ve never heard of, and maybe even game genres Alex hasn’t played before… You won’t be disappointed.

Post any comments or questions about the IDDQDerp live stream.

Salutations Alex. I've got to say, so far your stream has made me laugh out loud more then any of the others (though they are enjoyable in other ways). Now that the gaming PC has arrived are you planning on finishing Metro 2033 or moving on?

Also, you've made me want to buy Metro 2033, damn you.

I think that while Alex on his own is hella funny, the addition of Cam makes this extra great; that whole sniping dialog had me in stitches.

Oh yeah, Alex is fantastic alongside company, but recalling his AAAL streams is key fodder for evidence that he is in and of himself a fascinatingly entertaining fellow.

THIS! Can we have an extra show with just the two of them, because that was wonderfully dark.

Show of hands* - who else wants to see Alex derp his ass off to Zeno Clash? It seems like the perfect fit.

I only got to see a little of this because it was late and I am getting a cold. For a bit I thought my cold medicine was affecting me just a bit more than normal, but apparently you were seeing the same things.

What. Was. That?

I actually laughed until it hurt. The gifs we will harvest out of the replay will sustain us for many months, perhaps into the next Desert Bus. Cam breaking down into hysterical laugher was also a highlight.
When the upkeep takes longer than the main phase, I know I've done my job well.

I still want a gif of the first moment that Alex and Cam hear the music, right before this, before Cam gives Graham the headphones (I looked it up: 1:12:48, and there are so many good gifs there I want to make; what software do people use for that?)

There was a play on Broadway once called Moose Murders- it lasted one night before being cancelled, thanks to a decidedly mental storyline that made absolutely no sense and carried with it a sense that we would probably describe nowadays as extreme derpiness. Afterwards, a theatre critic wrote 'From now on there will always be two types of theatregoersin this world; those who have seen Moose Murders, and those who have not. Those of us who have witnessed it will undoubtedly hold periodic reunions in the noble tradition of survivors of the Titanic'.

That's kinda how I feel about this stream.

If we want more crazy bible games, I have heard of something called The You Testament. http://www.pcgamer.com/2010/12/04/crap-shoot-the-you-testament/ that seems a bit more playable, but seems to involve Jesus handing you force powers, including the ability to shoot knives from your hands.

They made a sequel about Mohammad that is apparently the same thing. Oh, and did I mention they based them off a wrestling game engine, and left the AI aggression turned up, so Jesus sermons regularly turn into giant brawls? Also that it has peradeath?

That was one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen. Watching three grown men play this game and just totally losing it made my day.

I just went and watched a speed run too. Why would any sane person be willing to play this game enough to get faster at it? I think this is some kind of psychological test.
