Re: Watch + Play
I know Graham tended to overly pick on what Jim did, but what Jim just did... that has to be inflicted on Alex...

Re: Watch + Play
This might be reserved for a "palette cleanser", but I have to recommend Catlateral Damage (PC / Steam) to play on stream. With the number of cat owners / lovers here, it's only a matter of time.
Right now it's on pre-release (via the game's website for Steam), but should be officially on Steam in May. I'm willing to gift it for the stream, but there's a little legwork for redemption via Humble Bundle.
You can find more details & the online demo at http://www.catlateraldamage.com if you want to check it out.

Still not enough. It's never enough.
Also, whenever the sequel to that... that thing happens, I feel like we're going to need another co-pilot. Someone who hasn't seen Spud and his adventures with naked deer who get murdered and... and I still can't believe that they actually had a guy trying to sell you their meat. I just can't. I can't. Plz.

Like many said, we needed Cam on this... We totally did... If you do the sequel, include Cam.

Re: Watch + Play
That was amazing. "Head and shoulders above Myst". Oy vey. The jokes that weren't just terrible were racist or sexist or just gross. The graphics were pretty terrible, even for the age. The gameplay had one neat idea (combining items with creatures to use them) which it barely used and the rest was stupid, arbitrary, and trial-and-error based. I just...man.
May those who accept their fate find happiness; Those who defy it, glory!
Re: Watch + Play
I love that a supercut of all the the Alex/Graham reactions would probably be about 5 - 10 minutes long. Many minutes were given that day.
Also, thank god (the god that is clearly dead if this game can exist) for the soundboard.

I just want to thank Alex and Graham for the entertainment of the Spud!, which made my day of becoming more sick much much better.
(Rhetorical) How does a game like Spud! ever be allowed to exist with this kind of terrible and abysmal writing?

Jim keeps finding these wonderful games. It would be interesting to hear Graham and Alex talk about this as a game.

Re Spud, I...yi yi yi yi. Wow. and OW. Inappropriate, offsides, and right straight out there. Now we know why some groups think censorship is a good thing. Nice job, Spud dev dude.
I will give it this - as Alex notes, it does have an early checkpointing system, and also, that was a pretty good villain rant from Dr. Chillblane. I like that it included a sendup of the gameplay so far - "You don't get past Dr. Chillblane with a couple of fluffy bunnies and an inflatable reindeer!" That was actually ok, as was the Loony Toons ending.
But wow, how little that makes up for the rest of this ... thing.
Edit: OMG the manga thing is like Spud's Quest II - The Anime Sequel!!

Welp, after revisiting The Quivering...I wonder if we'd have been better off with Scylla.

And now the game no longer works.
Just saw a video Jim put up about how the devs have abandoned it and pulled the servers.

Re: Watch + Play
Hey! I got an idea for the next or any upcoming W&P whenever it happens - Fill a hat with a bunch of suggested and "classic" bad games, and then let Alex pick from that hat.
Re: Watch + Play: The Quivering, review has been deleted
Yeah I went back to steam to look up the review Alex left (maybe for a gift or something But now it and MANY bad reviews for the game have been removed. All that's left is a recent review and what looks like a planted ,as well as glorious, review praising the game on everything that was "off" about it. Cant understand why but thanks to that the game is now at MIXED reviews on it way to positively reviewed.
not sure how to feel about it but i thought I should post about it here.

Re: Watch + Play
Is this the right place to suggest a W+P game?
This looks truly awful in a good way http://store.steampowered.com/app/313590/
