Magnum Rewatch Ep13 - Adelaide
Magnum Rewatch Ep13 - Adelaide
Magnum is tasked to protect the kindly Norman from a group of cowboys, and everyone else thinks this is hilarious for some reason. Graham and Kathleen enjoy some rich, steroid-fueled tangents.

Talking about horses having to come into the country, just a few
episodes we had animals being quarantine for like 3 months when they entered the country....which would be impractical for show horses. And in those days I would assume horses would get transported by boat and not plane. Plot holes everywhere!
On the other hand, no turn to the camera in this episode....so that's something. Still better than the Missing In Action episode though, which was crazy plot with physic powers.

Haven't listened to the podcast yet, but for horses and rabies: the average incubation period for rabies in horses is only 12 days, compared to several months in dogs, so there's less need for an extensive quarantine period.

The intro to the episode explains perfectly why porn has a story. "But why did she order an XL sausage pizza?"
Also, the drug game for racing horses is no joke. I was merely pursuing my degree and I had 'farmers' asking to buy viagra or fentanyl patches or lollipops for what they claim was just work horses. They clearly didnt care to act or look the role of a farmer though. I guess what I'm saying is dont mess with the equestrian mafia.

For the question of the transport of horses, while I can't speak to the 80's, at least today they are transported by air (and generally arrive well ahead of the event, taking care of any necessary quarantine periods). There are specialized horse trailers for air flight, which can be loaded into cargo planes that have pressurized sections.
