Three, actually. Wand of Gamelon, Faces of Evil, and Zelda's Adventure. Nintendo had no part in their creation except allowing Philips to use the license.

If I recall correctly, it also had a Mario game. Some friends of mine actually have that console somewhere, I ought to ask them if I could buy it. Them were some awesome games actually.

I'll see your Phillips CD-i, and raise you the Mattel Intellivision.

iPods are using that disc controller as a "clickwheel".

It was the first to provide digitized speech (via a cumbersome and expensive add-on Intellivoice module)

It was the first 16-bit machine.

It also had a music keyboard peripheral - which even preceded any home computers, let alone its console brethren.

Never owned one, but several friends did, and I remember spending many hours flying a B-17 in what seemed like real time into enemy territory, playing essentially a dressed-up version of 'hunt the wumpus' in Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, fending off alien armadas with my few defending fighters in Space Battle, or trying to whack that dang RECOGNIZER in TRON: Deadly Discs. (Mattel had pretty good licensing at the time)

I thought I had a pretty good working knowledge of obscure or horrid consoles, and I had never heard of this.

Oh well. I guess that period of time was fairly marked by a series of "what were they thinking" game consoles?
