Comedy! We like it. You like it (we hope). There’s going to be a-f’ing-lot of it at the Phillips Comedy Night, this Sunday.

The show is Sunday, March 14th, at the Victoria Event Centre. The Event Centre is located at 1415 Broad St. Victoria, BC, V8W 2B2, across from the A-Channel Building, up a flight of stairs.

Here:

Doors are at 7:30PM, and the show starts at 8. Tickets are $10 at the door, $8 for students. The show will be worth every penny. (and not a cent more!)

You probably want to get there early. It shouldn’t sell out, but it could.

LoadingReadyRun will be headlining this comedy night with a live act featuring six skits, and the talents of Graham, Paul, Jer, Matt, James, Tim, Kathleen, Morgan, and a very special guest. Should be great!

Also great will be the other performers doing their thing, including:

Stand up comedy by Charles Martin, Carilynn Nicholson, Mark Robertson, May Brown, and a special appearance by Toby Hargrave, winner of “Vancouver’s Funniest Comedian, 2005”, and star of his own comedy special on CTV as well as sketch comedy by “This is Only a Test”. The Event itself is hosted by Wes Borg of Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie, and is brought to you by Phillips Breweries – makes of such Fine beverages as Phoenix Gold Lager, Blue Buck Ale, and a personal favorite the Longboat Double Chocolate Porter.

So come on out and support us, other great local comics, and a fantastic local brewery.

Cheers, all! See you there!

Not-So-Rejected ENN-March 10, 2010

While I normally use this space to post ENN stories that didn’t quite make it into the final episode, the truth of the matter is we didn’t write any this week. After the whole Infinity Ward thing hit the fan last week, we knew we had to do something about it, and by the time the feature story was done, it became obvious it was time to pull the trigger on an idea we’ve been tossing around for some time: a full-feature episode of ENN.

To get things done, however, we needed to call in the help of our good friend Derek Hand, aka Tensen01. Tensen produced some great concept art for our extremely tasteless take on Modern Warfare, so we figured why not give you some full-rez versions of his work.

UPDATE: the version that went up on the Escapist 2010-03-10 was missing a couple lines of dialogue. The final version is now live.

Operation: Mark Moonbase Mk. III

runners operation

As you may have picked up from various Twitter chatter or podcast conversations, we’re in the middle of relocating the LoadingReadyRun office (affectionately known as the “Moonbase”) to a larger, better, warmer location. All of the principal moving is done, along with the painting and shelf-hanging and so on, and you’ll be happy to know that a fair amount of the process was documented in moving audio-pictures. We’re super-excited about the Moonbase Mark Three.

But there’s been one small problem…

We’ve lost it.

Oh! No, no no; we aren’t crazy. We haven’t lost our minds. We’ve just lost our Moonbase!

So we need your help to find it back. Scour the internet, peer through telescopes, pore over Captains’ starlogs, do whatever it takes (legally!) to find a map of the moon and locate our moonbase.

Keep in mind that the actual moonbase itself won’t be visible; after all, it’s an underground orbiting moonbase. But you should be able to discover some of the more likely hiding places, in craters, on the sides of mountains, in the middle of dusty plains… We’ll check the most likely locations and reward whoever finds it!

So, in summary, your task is to find a map of the moon somehow (I hear Google Earth has shots of the moon, as a starting point) and mark a location where you think the Moonbase Mk. III might be hidden. Send a screenshot (and, if possible, a link) to me by midnight PST on March 19, 2010. We’ll pick the best location from the submissions.

If you have any questions, leave a comment or send an email.

Good hunting!
