Assassin Creeds
March 20th, 2012

Just like the trailer for Assassin’s Creed 3, our videos for the week have been released into the wild. You can catch them below.

LoadingReadyRun: Assassin Creeds
Unskippable: Infernal: Hell’s Vengeance Part Two
Checkpoint: The Masses Are Effected
Friday Nights: Friday
Feed Dump: Carcinogen Cola
Loading Time: Taxes Are Taxing
GPLP: X-Men Destiny (PT4, PT5)

This week’s video fetures Paul and Andy as they expound on some of the decisions that must have taken place behind the scenes to make Assassin’s Creed III the game it appears to be. Supplemented by Cam’s dignified assassin-esque badassery and a great piece of costuming from Tally, I feel like this video really comes together, and hopefully you do too.

This week also saw the release of our final episode of Friday Nights (for now). Hopefully you enjoyed watching this miniseries as much as we enjoyed making it! If you’d like to see more of it made, please let the fine folks at Wizard of the Coast know. We loved working with them, and if the demand is there, we’d love to work with them again.

Have a great week, everyone!

Spare Us, Gus

The videos are here! And there’s a few new additions to the roster! Since last Monday the following series have updated (or premiered!):

LoadingReadyRun: Spare Us, Gus
Unskippable: Spider-Man: Edge of Time
Checkpoint: Is It Worth It?
Feed Dump: Test Tube Beef
Friday Nights: Untap
Loading Time: Pros at Cons
GPLP: Dante’s Inferno: (E. 16, 17, & 18)

Yeesh. We do a lot of stuff!

So, this week’s episode is… weird. Good weird! But… weird. I’m not sure quite what to make of it. It’s funny though. That much I know to be true. The script comes to us from none other than our forum’s very own Alex Roederer (AlexanderDitto), who’s been a fan and member of our community for basically as long as I can remember us having fans or a community. He assures us that his sense of humour is pretty unorthodox, and I’d say that this particular sketch would lend credence to that claim. I’m not sure quite what we filmed exactly, or how it was inspired, but we filmed it, and we laughed. So Thanks, Alex!

Among our many updates this week was the very first episode of our four-part HUSTLE-spinoff series “Friday Nights” which we are producing in association with Wizards of the coast. This series has been a long time coming, and were really thrilled that it’s finally here. The reception has been overwhelmingly positive, and e couldn’t be happier to hear that you’re all enjoying it so much. We’ll be updating a new episode each Thursday for the next three weeks, so make sure to check back in and follow the crew’s Magic the Gathering adventures!

Cheers!

Sh*t People Say

Sh*t LRR fans say: “Oh hey the new video is up”

LoadingReadyRun: Sh*t People Say
Unskippable: L.A. Noire
Checkpoint: Tera-fied

So, as Graham will note in the intro to this video, “Sh*t People Say” marks another fine entry in the list of videos where LRR arrives at a meme so late that it’s essentially been beaten to death already. But an old, tired premise has never stopped us scraping the bottom of the barrel before, and it’s not going to stop us now either!

The premise of this video was to, in equal parts, do a parody of the meme, capitalize on the popularity of the format to have some geeky fun, to bring the meme to it’s ridiculous conclusion finally putting it to bed, and to pretty much just do a “Sh*t People Say” video. I’d say we managed to succeed on most of those counts. A number of people in the various comment threads have made mention of the fact that they subconsciously added the X ways to Y music to the video, but I’m tempted to say that it almost strikes me as more of a Rapid-fire. Maybe a bit from Column A and a bit from Column B.

In other news, if you’re interested in some additional content to feed into your eye-holes, please note that Loading Time is henceforth going to be a recurring feature on The Escapist. New Loading Time columns and videos will update every Thursday, so make sure to check those out!

One final thing, our MtG Phases t-shirt is now available on the LRR Store. If you didn’t manage to grab one during pre-orders, now’s your chance!

Cheers!

Tee Shirt Pre-order: Phases
October 13th, 2011

UPDATE: We have decided to extend the preorder until October 31st, so you have one more week to order this awesome shirt!

A shirt for the stylish planeswalker, our newest pre-order unites an iconic design with the terminology of Magic: the Gathering. Available in a selection of colors representing each of the five types of mana, one of these shirts is sure to leave the gamer of your choice wanting to tap you. Remember, though, that these shirts are as fleeting as victory, and if you wish to bring one into your plane of existence you must not delay! Travel to the LoadingReadyRun store, and secure yourself one today! You’ll find they cost less than a Snapcaster Mage (and they’re warmer to boot!)

Additionally, all shirt pre-orders include a button featuring a few of the lesser known steps of a player turn. A must have for the Magic collector, and surprisingly useful as a +1/+1 counter.

Cheers!
