The video is up! You can view it here.

I wasn’t actually present for this particular video shoot, so I asked Paul to provide some insight with regards to his inspiration and the video at large. His comments are posted below:

I had the idea of a video showing what happens when you don’t organize your military stereotypes properly percolating around in my brain for a while, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it without showing the various squads. With at least 3 people in each squad and 5 or 6 different stereotypes, actually demonstrating all the problems would require way too many actors to be practical. I have always been a big fan of the “explaining how this silly world works to the confused straight man” structure of sketch (see: Le Cafe, Paper Boy, Economic Stimulus, The LHC, etc), so I realized that the idea would work just as well in the format of a junior officer being reprimanded by his superiors. In some wys it actually works better as the characters can talk about stuff that would be very hard for us to show. I feel that the two officers in this video are somehow related to the two from Emergency Situation, obviously they are not the same guys, but I think they are probably in the same army.

I think it got the point across, but our costuming and set dressing for the captains and the office probably wasn’t entirely believable. I was a pretty big fan of the life perserver on the wall of the navy captain’s office, though. It showed that he deals with ocean stuff, see?

Have you ever tried to instruct someone on the finer technical points of speaking pirate, but simply didn’t have an appropriate visual guide on hand? Or perhaps you’ve been yearning for more diverse and esoteric mini games on your Wii, but just couldn’t find the right way to let Nintendo know? Maybe you have a long coach ride ahead, and just haven’t figured out what to wear? Well, my friends, today is your lucky day!

For a limited time, and only while supplies last, the LoadingReadyRun Store will be offering these three great shirts for just $12! That’s almost half off! For the whole shirt!

You might be wondering if our years of internet fame have finally driven us crazy, and while that may be the case, I assure you, we’re totally serious about this price. With all the new shirts we’ve added to the store, we need to make some space in our stockroom, and that means it’s sale time!

If you’d like to purchase a Desert Bus Shirt, you can do so here.
X marks the spot, if you wish to lay down a few doubloons and acquire some pirate booty.
And you can pick up a WiiPlay shirt here, safe in the knowledge that your wallet will not be violated like the poor mii pictured.

I’d also like to remind you that preorders of our Muffin T-Shirt are still being taken, but there are only 15 days left! If you’ve been thinking of brightening this sad little fellow’s day by making him a part of your wardrobe, now’s the time to do it. You can place your order by following this link here. Remember, all pre-orders come with a complimentary “Awesome Muffin!” button (which I still can’t look out without giggling! SO HAPPY!)

Finally, don’t forget that season 2, 3, and 4 DVDs are now back in stock! These DVD sets feature all the core LRR videos from their respective seasons, complete with commentary tracks and a blooper reel that aren’t available online! Together, they account for 10 discs worth of content, and we packed those disks full!

Thanks everyone!

Better late than never, and certainly food for speculation over the next 12 hours while you wait for Monday’s video. Whatever could it be?

Casting Call: ENN’s Crack Investigative Team [CLOSED]
April 30th, 2010

Posted by Jeremy

UPDATE: This casting call is closed. Thanks, everyone, for your submissions :).

So here’s the story: in a future episode of ENN, we’ll need to call out ENN’s Crack Investigative Team — and just to clarify: we call them this because they are crack-shots at their jobs, not because they are on crack. Unfortunately, we don’t have a crack investigative team here at LoadingReadyRun, so we need you to provide that for us. Also to clarify, you don’t need to be in Victoria because we don’t need you in person, all we need are photographs that you don’t mind us showing to the world (and crediting you for, obviously).

If you are interested, please submit photographs of yourself dressed as an investigator–interpret this as you will: you could be a hard-hitting journalist, a CSI, or a detective in a deer stalker. Frankly, we’re looking for variety, so be creative. We need shots of you in two different poses against the most neutral background you can find: something easy for us to art out.

Please send submissions to [CLOSED] with the subject line “Re: CASTING CALL – INVESTIGATOR”. Make sure you use this subject line or I will be very dissapoint–probably to the point of not using your submission, even if it’s really awesome. Copy and paste it if you have to but make sure it’s accurate.

Thanks for your help! This blog post will self-destruct in 30 seconds … so you know.

Update: I need these by noon on Monday, May 3. This is not a due date, so much as it is the absolute latest that we will be able to incorporate new graphics, so don’t be late.
